Joël

Manager Projects & Engineering

“My name is Joel, and I work as Manager of Projects & Engineering at Bakker Flow Services.

After completing my degree in Mechanical Engineering, I started here as a Wellservice Engineer and have held various positions since then. Among other things, I focused on commercial activities with an emphasis on well testing and geothermal energy. Since July 2023, however, my focus has shifted more toward the project and engineering side, and in my role as manager, I am responsible for this department.

My role encompasses a wide range of tasks. I coordinate, monitor progress, and manage the Projects & Engineering department, which consists of seven colleagues. In addition, I have indirect responsibility for Field Operations. My workday usually starts around 7:30 a.m. by reviewing incoming emails regarding potential new projects and engineering requests.

An important part of my role is clearly defining the scope of work and designing projects, taking into account both internal and external client requirements. I also ensure the creation of a detailed project plan and action plan. Regular meetings with my own team, as well as with Sales and QHSE, are essential for the successful execution of projects.

What I really enjoy about working at this organization is the flexibility and the drive to innovate and grow. There’s plenty of room to design and develop new equipment, which allows us to offer the best possible solutions to our customers. Plus, the collaboration with colleagues is fantastic; we bring out the best in each other thanks to the short lines of communication within the company. If you put your energy into something, you get plenty of support to actually make it happen.”
