“People sometimes ask me, “Are you still working at Bakker Flow Services?” My answer is always the same: absolutely. Why would I leave an organization that continues to energize and challenge me after all these years?
My journey at Bakker Flow Services started in 2009. What began as a part-time role quickly developed into much more. As my responsibilities grew, so did my enthusiasm for the company. Eventually, I even decided to continue my studies on a part-time basis so I could dedicate more time to my role within the organization.
Over the years, I have had the opportunity to take on various positions, from HR Assistant and HR Coordinator to my current role as HR Manager and member of the Management Team. What makes this journey special is that I still feel I am developing and growing. Bakker Flow Services continues to evolve, innovate, and improve, which means my work is constantly changing as well.
What do I enjoy most about my work? Without a doubt, the people. In my HR role, I work with colleagues across the entire organization. While I work closely with the HR team, my position also allows me to connect with employees from every department. I enjoy collaborating with people, exchanging ideas, and working together to improve both the employee experience and the organization as a whole.
As part of the Management Team, I am involved in much more than HR alone. I contribute to discussions on organizational development, company policies, strategic initiatives, and change management. Being able to combine the people perspective with business objectives makes my role both challenging and rewarding.
There is no such thing as a typical workday—and that is exactly what I love about it.
One day I may be discussing organizational policies and long-term strategic plans. The next, I might be conducting job interviews, supporting managers with people-related challenges, or working on talent development and competency management initiatives.
I am also involved in designing and improving development programs, supporting employee growth, and helping shape processes that contribute to the success of the organization. Whether it is planning, coaching, problem-solving, organizing, or brainstorming new ideas, every day brings different opportunities and challenges.
The variety keeps me motivated. It requires flexibility, organization, communication, and a willingness to adapt, but that dynamic environment is exactly what gives me energy.
What makes working at Bakker Flow Services truly special is the opportunity to make a real impact. Ideas are valued, initiative is encouraged, and employees are given the freedom to contribute to the future of the organization.
I have the opportunity not only to help develop ideas and strategies, but also to put them into practice and see the results. That combination of strategic involvement and hands-on execution makes the work especially rewarding.
With short communication lines, a dynamic work environment, and highly engaged colleagues, we can move quickly and continuously improve. There is always something new happening, which keeps the work challenging, inspiring, and rewarding.
After more than 15 years, I still enjoy coming to work every day. And perhaps that says everything about why Bakker Flow Services continues to feel like home.”
